photos from africa

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

On my recent trip to Kenya, i had the opportunity to visit hospitals, various villages and game parks. From the nicest hotel in Nairobi to the dingiest shantytowns that were one good gust of wind away from being mere sheet metal and crudely formed boards, i saw quite a spectrum of humanity. Here are some “snaps”, as they called them.

powder mountain website

Friday, September 26th, 2008

We have recently finished a complete site re-design for Powder Mountain. With dynamic, yet searchable, content throughout the site, we have created a website where data is automatically fed through databases  and can be changed very easily everywhere else throughout the site. In other words, instead of having a very static 100+ page website, we have created the site to be agile in order to adapt to the changing seasons.

In order to have this fit within the marketing strategies we have going for Powder Mountain, we have provided copyrighting, photography, graphic design, development and strategic direction for the new website.

We also think that it looks cool too.

4×4 summer tours

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

This summer, Powder Mountain is offering off-road tours of the mountain with its Summer Safari. After riding on this beast myself, it is easy to see why the 4×4 open-air off-road vehicle is affectionately called the “powzilla”. It is a chance to do some real off-roading while touring one of the best ski areas.

To help drive traffic to this new summer attraction, we were called in to develop environmental prints as well as online campaign. After creating the photography, attached posters, online Flash banners as well as its own page on their website, they immediately started getting reservations. What do you know…i guess strategic implementation of a cross-media marketing campaign really works!

Enjoy.

new york pictures

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

I recently had the opportunity to visit new york on vacation. We had a great time exploring the city and, specifically, getting off the beaten path a bit. I absolutely love the juxtaposition of the “new” and the “classic”, the “clean” and the “decrepit”. These opposites create for an interesting environment to take some photos. Here are a few photos of the city from my perspective.

On a side note, if you have the chance to go to new york, definitely go to the MOMA but be weary of a thai restaurant in upper west manhattan that i can’t remember the name of since it gave me a nice bout of food poisoning. hopefully you can avoid the new york city porcelain tour, if you know what i mean. good times.

updated portfolio

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

It has been a long time coming but we finally have a bit more breadth to our portfolio section. As much as i wish that the portfolio section is now definitive, the fact is that this is still the tip of the iceberg of work that we have done. It shows some of our work from ads to websites to logos to print to…well, you get the idea. Enjoy.

video shoot in nc

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Recently, we flew out to North Carolina for a video shoot for a long-standing client of ours. Videos are certainly not for everyone because they can be costly and unwieldy to use properly. That being said, if used appropriately, they can actually express your messaging in a way that no other avenue can.

In this case, we produced an instructional DVD that will also be used within their marketing efforts to further their brand.

On a side note, when you can’t run the AC due to background noise and you are standing in a room full of lights, drink plenty of water…or have a large palm branch and a team of palm branch wavers at your disposal.

photos…art within the ordinary

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

I have this tendency to think in images, to create momentary photos like an internal camera obscura. Sometimes, i am lucky enough to have an actual camera with me to capture some of these angles, colors, lines, textures and shapes that seem to catch my eye. Such was the case yesterday where the light of the beautiful sunset allowed me take some photos of seemingly innocuous things. Trying to capture the ordinary things in life in a new, interesting way is a challenge.

This challenge holds true within marketing as well as within photography. Without an interesting angle, a wall is just a wall…a marketing piece is just a marketing piece. There is the need to have a creative presentation of your product/service in order for it to stand apart from the ordinary.

We would love to help you create something unique.

photo shoot

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Recently, we did a photo shoot with a long-time client, Wrap ‘n Wear. With babies and models in abundance, it was a fun event that allowed us to capture some of the benefits of their product.

The goal of this shoot was to highlight the product as more of a fashionable item rather than just a “baby product”. With that in mind we went to two locations, a high-end shopping center and a classic home. Each location gives a slightly different feel to the images but allows for the product to “fit” within the perceived environments and therefore give the association of a high-end product that is fashionable as well as functional.

Here are just a few examples of the photography below.
